Bump n Bake - Wk 14 & No Bake Oreo Balls

Updated: Aug 5

Week 14 got away from me just a tad. Just like everyone, I’m sure, the week between Christmas and New Years is always just a weird suck of time. I was fortunate to be off work during this time and still send Dom to day care, (can I get an Amen?!) so I was truly able to relax and unplug a bit. I started watching Married to Medicine, and it’s my new guilty pleasure. So trashy, so real housewives-ish.

So how did week 14 treat me? More of the same as 13, unfortunately. Still rocking a little nausea and the terrible taste in my mouth is literally THE worst symptom. Like why aren’t more moms taking about this shit?! I feel like I’d be all good if there wasn’t a constant ass-like, metallic-sour taste in my mouth.

Symptoms:

  • Nausea - Still here, but not nearly as bad as before. I’ll take it!

  • Metallic taste - again. What in the actual fuck and why isn’t there a fix for this?!

  • Bleeding Gums - I’ll have this one for the long haul.

  • Night Sweats - still woof and getting worse. I’m talking I wake up in the middle of the night drenched by

  • Food Aversions - still having this issue. And it’s causing me to lose weight. Here’s hoping this corrects itself soon.

Cravings:

  • wine dammit

  • And nothing else

Feeling/Emotion: Anxious. The waiting is the worst part of pregnancy. Ok, second worst behind the bad tasting mouth. Being a person who loves to check things off her list, having this long term “project” going on without being able to check it off is so hard for me. It’s part of the reason my word of the year for 2020 is content. I will spend half of this year working on this “project.” It’s going to be a long long 6 months if I can’t figure out how to just sit still and be in the present. I keep telling myself that this is my last pregnancy so I need to commit it to memory. Remember those little flutters that remind me Miss P is with me. Remember that this is the only time for the rest of her life that it will be just me and her.

Recipe:

Lifted this one from Cooking Mommy. Admittedly this did not come out as pretty as if hoped. They’re tasty, just not insta-worthy. Melting the white chocolate seemed to be hard AF. For some reason I can cook a real complex meal, but the simplest things, such as boiling an egg elude me.

Ingredients:

  • 1 16 oz. package Oreos store brand works fine!

  • 1 8 oz. package cream cheese softened

  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar

  • 24 oz. white chocolate bark this melts well and is ideal for dipping

  • 6 oz. chocolate chips optional

Directions:

  1. Crumble Oreos in a food processor. I actually did this by putting the Oreos in a gallon zip lock and them rolling them with a rolling pin. I also let Dom stomp on this which he liked.

  2. Mix together crumbled Oreos, cream cheese and powdered sugar.

  3. Roll into 1" balls and chill 30 minutes.

  4. Melt white chocolate bark according to package directions. This is where I failed. Why the hell is melting chocolate so hard for me? I don't know. Good luck to you though.

  5. Use a fork or toothpick to dip balls and place on wax paper to dry.

  6. Optional if you're feeling sassy: melt chocolate chips according to package directions, spoon into a small zip top bag and close, cut a tiny hole in the corner and drizzle the chocolate on top.

Cheers to the weekend!
